Thesis

Airports are highly emotional and stressful places. People should be focused on their reasons for flying instead of stressing about everything that could go wrong. This is the topic I selected for my thesis during my senior year of design school.

THE PROBLEM

The airport experience can cloud the excitement that traveling provides.

When I first began my thesis I decided to explore the traveling experience. Traveling is such an incredibly enriching experience for people, however when I did my research I found that airports were a huge pain point. That is when I decided to focus my thesis on the airport experience and how that can be improved.

FEATURES

Captain has three high level functions; navigation, time management, and task prioritization.

Navigation is a map that is exclusively of the airport the user is in. Time management allows the user to see how much time they have to complete certain tasks before their flight. Task prioritization allows the user to plan their airport "strategy" and decide how they want to spend their time in the airport. These three main functions operate concurrently and are available to the user to
swipe through.
